About
      Can't go wrong with the classics!
Welcome
I think a lot of philosophy in regards to g1 and g2 games is a lot more different compared to far later iterations of pokemon but the gap is very wide when comparing something like RGBY to FRLG, which is why they have seperate pages.
HGSS compared to GSC still has that gap, but at that point it's easy to see how pokemon eventually changed it's style a lot wider when comparing the gen 1 game to it's gen 3 counterpart to gen 7 with let's go. Sort of like how much of a forest kanto in 3 is compared to the city in 1.
Also the physical special split didn't exist.
par (the) announcement: I will eventually be translating French Pokémon This was already a post on cohost a long time ago where I was considering playing Pokémon in another language So far no progress on that end but I will be playing French. It was a 50-50 chance between either that or Italian. Spanish would’ve been good to refresh past high school and my lack of a streak with word deer and equivalents Localization wise though Spanish looked like it just translated the English version Japanese would’ve been wonderful if I knew any kanji whatsoever but most of my Japanese knowledge is audio only based on me being an anime watcher Since I didn’t want to redo Spanish for the sake of it, and I heard the TV references were different, I decided to go with the French version of Pokémon blue on the virtual console. Really this was born out of a burning curiosity to see what the heck rival says in place of bonjour if he’s speaking French the entire time

Trashlockes are an interesting kind of experience when you don’t faint the mons so you end up rotating out the early game mons for new ones
And it’s interesting in general to not evolve at all
Super weird. I wonder how a person like that looks to everyone else. Are they saying that their pokemon shouldn’t evolve unless absolutely necessary or is it a choice
on the Pokémon’s end as well? Do people guilt trip them for their pokemon not being properly raised in their eyes…? I mean, lasses like having their pokemon stay cute,
 so is it okay in the pokemon world to not have full evolutions? Like, there was Dawn’s piplup that basically forced itself to not evolve.
I mean, little cup does exist, it was in stadium once, and there are legit Strats with unevolved pokemon like FEAR Ratatta. Everyone lives with pokemon differently.
Well, not like I’d know. Pokemon in games can’t make the same decisions like that in the anime, it’s all on the player’s end and they have to make up the story.
	Green Catch Em All Run/Blastoise Solo
    Red++ Green+ Yellow Legacy
    I completely forgot about Yellow Legacy, see what I mean about forgetting games?

    I forgot how much that thing sucks in earlier games where it’s dark as hell. Zubat everywhere. Rock tunnel is basically near impossible since it's just pitch dark and you have to go to the wall corner or go all the way back to get flash

    Red++ (WHERE ARE THE MOONSTONES)
    I'm just backtracking like crazy in Red++
    I'm glad the game's like an incredibly polished Red hack but I completely screwed up by having almost nothing but trades on my party

    The modern exp share is great for games like this where I can have the team be evenly levelled instead of other pokemon games where i have to go back and forth in grass but that's because i'm playing wrong
    the leafgreen and emerald runs i did a few years ago were actually in the 40s (tbh I did get hard carried by rayquaza and full restores)
    so I should just blaze ahead!

    Green (regular)
    Im being attacked by rats and birds man

I didn't really have anything super special to show off because pokemon games kind of take time if you aren't speedrunning, but I did finish up something! In a few days. Because I'm impulsive. This one was one I did in a day simply because I wanted to go bug hunting, ended up beating the game without the missingno because it turns out that some of the missingno that are found in game kind of suck ass. I was using the premade Red missingno. Like, I was better off not using it.
I made a team based on the thought of “how would a child play pokemon” and thus, I ended up with an incredibly powerful charmeleon in the early game and then ended up carried by a mew. Psychic types are incredibly busted in gen 1. I felt like I was on a power trip majority of the run, it was kinda crazy. I like Kanto. It’s comfy, you can kind of mess around with it without any super annoying roadblocks. Gen 1 Kanto is a land of total whackiness, some of the sprites are incredible. It's early installment weirdness all over, why did so many trainers carry whips? I know I did that Geocities research project a while back but it must’ve been crazy in the time of early internet where none of these things could be datamined or verified unless you went out of the way to do it by yourself. And it was quite wild to do the steps.
This and gen 2 have the most geocities sites and I feel like in terms of memorability pokemon will never escape the shadow of Kanto as it's first installment At the very least it's not like sonic where you will see green hill zone and are conditioned to know that classic's just chilling with modern forever.
