Man I hate FOMO (MIHF) Man I loathe FOMO (MILF) The thing I have with mobages that makes me go through the pain of downloading and un downloading and constantly doing that is that I would be perfectly willing to spend money on them if they were regular apps with a one time purchase but instead they get to make far more money in the most sinister way possible: rigged gambling and weaponized Fear of missing Out. My brain just bounces off hard these days outside of select games and seeing a banner or ad for these types of games just reminds me of Pop Ups. It’s sort of like, all this effort is put into making these games rivaling those of massive companies with good art styles and gameplay and story and characters but you put in a giant slot machine that lures in impulsive people and children. And being an F2P only brings more pain to this because even if you spend a ton of time grinding FOMO events and get a ton of gems or crystals or what nots there’s still an extremely narrow window of not getting the guaranteed banner summon and you’d have to panic scrounge and be exhausted. I don’t want to play a video game that has me logging in daily to get missions done like it’s a job, stamina bars that prevent me from playing if I get stuck on one level and when I beat it and want to progress I have to wait, the constant grind to get better trinkets on different days and having to make a schedule around it. And there’s no end in mind unless they get cancelled and then they usually shut down entirely with no way to replay them at all. Once they shut down there’s no way to ever get anything back in official ways. no thanks. Just don’t play the games then But I like playing the games , I just dislike the part of the game that makes up 50% of the game that is hard to ignore because the first thing as soon as you get past the loading screen after a long download is the daily login with new shinies or whatever.Adventure Log

I think video game adaptions have some sort of clause put upon them to have something slightly off from the game plot itself and characterization in order to ensure people don’t just use the adaption as an excuse to not play the game. The only show that had any sort of awareness so far I’ve seen is sonic boom because the show was fully aware it was part of a stillborn spinoff so the writers just made it a sitcom. Currently in Neko astume 2 I’m not very far, but that’s generally because I forgot the game came out. Ramses the great is just casually chilling usually because I haven’t bought many toys yet.
Not sure how the yard feature works and since it seems social media reliant I probably won’t get the exclusive toys unless
I just start using random ones people leave online. I’ll consider that.
There’s a thing for going to other people’s yards on social media and they net you exclusive yard cats. There’s also dogs.
